Terms of service

Effective October 20, 2026

These terms govern your use of Contap. By creating an account, publishing a profile or using an NFC card that points to Contap, you agree to them.

1. Your account

You must provide accurate account information, keep your password confidential and be old enough to enter a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.

We may require email verification, restrict access, suspend an account or ask for additional information to protect the platform and its users.

2. Your profile and content

You retain ownership of the text, images and links you add. You grant us a limited licence to host, display and transmit that content for the purpose of operating your public profile and delivering the service. You confirm you have the right to use the images and information you upload.

Published profiles are public. Do not include sensitive personal information, another person’s private information or content you do not have permission to share. You are responsible for keeping your profile accurate and for choosing which optional fields are visible.

3. Acceptable use

You must not use Contap to:

We may remove content, disable a profile or suspend an account when we reasonably believe these rules have been broken. Public visitors can report a profile for review.

4. NFC cards and hardware

An NFC card is a physical item supplied separately from the digital profile. It must use a compatible chip and be written with the correct Contap URL using a compatible writer. We do not guarantee that every phone, card reader or writer will support every card.

Cards can be assigned, reassigned, suspended or retired by platform administrators. A suspended card may stop opening a profile, while the underlying profile remains available through its direct link and QR code unless separately unpublished or disabled.

5. Availability and changes

Contap is in early access. Features may change, and occasional downtime may occur. We aim to communicate material changes before they take effect, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may introduce or change pricing with reasonable notice; existing features will not become paid retroactively without notice.

6. Termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account from account settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material breaches of these terms, security risks, legal requirements or prolonged inactivity where required for operational reasons. On termination, your public profile will no longer be available, subject to backup and retention practices.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits, lost opportunities or loss of data arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or the minimum permitted by law.

9. Governing terms

These terms are governed by the laws that apply to the operator of the Contap instance you use. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

10. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to platform support through the help centre.
